» Bar Manager
Major goal of the Bar Manager is to ensure a smooth running of the department
on a day to day basis. Person assigned to this position must have the
ability to co-ordinate and delegate responsibility to his/her Assistants.
His/hers responsibilities include training new employees; planning, assigning
and directing tasks. Bar Manager handles and resolves complaints regarding
the beverage operation. He/she must posses a full knowledge of the entire
beverage operation such as cocktails recipes and service standards. A
sound knowledge in wines and inventory control is compulsory.
An applicant must be familiar with all the ship's activities and hours
of operations, as well as with the ship's rules and regulations. He/she
must have a pleasant and courteous personality and fluent English language
skills. An additional language is an advantage.
» Assistant Bar Manager
The Assistant Bar Manager supervises the designated area of the bar operation,
assigned by the Bar Manager. An applicant must be prepared to help or
fully replace the Bartender for a period of time whenever necessary.
His/her duties include the supervision of the beverage inventory control.
An applicant must be aware of guests' needs and possible complaints. He/she
must: achieve and maintain the USPH standards, report of all equipment
malfunctions to the technical department.
» Bartender
The Bartender is responsible for serving alcoholic beverage to guests
in lounges and on decks; mixing drinks and cocktails; filling orders placed
by bar waiters; setting up, cleaning and stocking the bar.
He/she is also responsible for all beverage transactions at the bar,
the beverage cost as well as for creating an amusing and entertaining
atmosphere for the guests at the bar.
An applicant must have a pleasant and courteous personality and fluent
English language skills.
